The City of Everett is currently accepting applications on an open competitive basis for the Civil Service examination process for RECORDS SYSTEMS SPECIALIST with the Everett Public Works Department.
This is technical support work performing a wide range of duties. Records Systems Specialists assist in the creation, maintenance, and security of the central records systems in Public Works. Employees in this class implement programs and policies as directed. Incumbents are expected to work independently on assigned duties while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Employees in this classification may train other employees, make work assignments, monitor work in progress, review completed work for accuracy, and perform all related clerical duties. The work is performed under the supervision of the Records Manager, and is reviewed periodically for adherence to established policies, procedures, and other performance criteria.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Requires two-year degree from a community college in business technology, business administration, administrative support, business information technology, or a related field AND two (2) years professional experience working in records management or files management OR any equivalent combination of education and experience to demonstrate competency and to provide the requisite knowledge and abilities.

EXAMINATION STEPS
- Supplemental Questions are blind rated independent of application and resume and weighted 30%.
- Oral Panel will take place approximately during the week of May 5, and weighted 70%
- All vacancies in this job class will be filled from the ranked Civil Service parent and supplemental registers established from the examination processes.
IMPORTANT NOTES
- A passing grade of 70.00 or higher is required on all parts of the screening process for placement on the ranked Civil Service eligible register.
- The examination process is designed to sample and measure the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Applicants claiming veterans’ preference points in accordance with RCW 41.04.010 as amended and meeting eligibility criteria must submit form DD214, or its equivalent or successor discharge paperwork, that characterizes his or her service as qualifying discharge as defined in RCW 73.04.005.
