Description
Under supervision of a Professional Engineer, performs professional-level civil engineering work in connection with a variety of Public Works projects. The Civil Engineer analyzes, researches, plans, and designs municipal structures and systems, reviews development plans, and/or leads technical support staff in the work of the assigned section. Incumbents frequently use professional judgment in analyzing engineering data and system problems. May be assigned to perform limited section supervisory responsibilities.
