Water District 19 is seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team of water treatment and distribution professionals. We offer the training and mentorship needed to succeed as a water system operator.
About Water District 19:
Established in 1925, Water District 19 is the largest of the Group A water systems serving Vashon-Maury Island. We pump, treat, and deliver water from deep wells and surface water sources to nearly 1,500 water service connections.
The Position:
The job requires that operators reside on-island, have ability to provide on-call duties, can work independently as well as part of a team, and possess a willingness to learn new skills. The work can be physically demanding and is often performed outdoors in various weather conditions. Though experience in water system operation, maintenance, repair and/or heavy equipment operation is preferred, the District will provide the training and education required to obtain Water Distribution Manager 2, Water Treatment Plant Operator 2, and Cross-connection Specialist Certification. Starting wages dependent on skills and experience:
- Operator in Training – $29.29 to $30.47/hr
- WDM 1/WTPO 1/CCS – $37.66/hr to $39.97/hr
- WDM 2/WTPO 2/CCS – $43.93/hr to $49.93/hr
